The first Stakeholders Meeting for the “Consultancy Services for Regulatory gap analysis in the Republic of Seychelles” project, took place online on the 23rd of March with the attendance of 15 representatives of the Seychelles Ministry of Environment Energy and Climate Change, Ministry of Finance, Trade, Investment & Economic Planning, National Tender Board, Energy Solutions Seychelles, the Public Utilities Corporation, the Seychelles Energy Commission, the NDC Partnership, and the World Bank.
The project’s objective is to draft 4 Regulations (Tariffs, Distributed Generation Systems, Licensing, and IPPs) and 2 Bills (Electricity Bill and Regulator’s Bill) in order to modernize Seychelles’ energy legislative framework and allow for the deployment of indigenous renewable energy in the country.
This first Stakeholder Meeting provided a space for the exchange of visions and feedback from local stakeholders with our experts on the draft Regulations and Bills.
