On 9th of March 2024, with participation of His Excellency the President of the Republic of The Gambia, the Honorable Minister of Petroleum and Energy of the Republic of The Gambia and other members of the Cabinet, the Managing Director of NAWEC, the Governor of the West Coastal Area, the Alkalo of Jambur, the distinguished representatives of The World Bank and the European Investment Bank (EIB), the ambassadors of EU and the People’s Republic of China, the inauguration ceremony of the historic 23 MW Solar PV Plant with 8MWH Battery Storage was held.
As the Owner’s Engineering services of the Plant have been performed by MAI Group, our CEO Mr. Miguel A. Hernandez gave a speech for this remarkable occasion. It is a proud for us being part of this project that stands as a beacon of progress and development in the West African region.
We wish to extend our sincere gratitude to all stakeholders once again for placing their trust in MAI Group for this crucial project for the development of the Power Sector in the Gambia and we would like to acknowledge relentless efforts of our Area Director, Javier Gala; our Project Director, Luis Cases; and most notably, our Site Manager, Zeljko Markovic.
