A distinguished delegation from Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) and TANESCO visited our offices in Madrid during the last week of September. The visit was organized within the framework of the Kenya Tanzania Power Interconnection Project (KTPIP) in which Mercados-Aries International is supporting the two companies in assessing the potential for trading provided by the new interconnection and in the development of the wheeling tariff methodology and model for future cross border exchanges.
The study tour in Madrid provided the opportunity to get a deeper knowledge and understanding of mature regional market experiences in Europe and Central America, through virtual and in-person meetings with the most relevant institutions in Spain and Central America, including the regulator, the market operator, and the TSO.
