MAI Group has commenced a pivotal project in Uganda for power sector!

📣 We are pleased to announce that MAI Group has commenced a pivotal project to support the Government in implementing the second-generation reforms in Uganda’s power sector. The inception visit took place in Kampala over the last two weeks where the team held a kick-off meeting that brought together key stakeholders to discuss the project’s comprehensive objectives.

A key focus of this initiative is the natural end of the concession for Umeme, which presents a unique opportunity to reassess and optimize the sector’s performance. This project will conduct a thorough assessment of the current setup of Uganda’s electricity sector, identifying both strengths and areas needing improvement. Our goal is to provide strategic recommendations that will foster the needed environment to increase private sector participation, which is crucial for enhancing competitiveness and efficiency. We aim to develop strategies that not only improve system reliability and affordability but also ensure the financial sustainability of the Electricity Supply Industry (ESI). ♟️💪🏻🎯

Through this project, we aspire to guide the second-generation reforms towards a more robust, efficient, and sustainable power sector in Uganda. We look forward to working closely with all stakeholders to drive this transformative journey for Uganda’s energy future. ⚡️🔌💡
