Mercados – Aries International (MAI) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Grupo Alta Tension (GAT)

Madrid, 12th December 2022. Mercados – Aries International (MAI) a recognized international consulting company in the energy and water sectors has acquired Grupo Alta Tension (GAT) as part of the activities included in its 2025 Business Plan. The purchase agreement was signed last Friday 2nd of December by Juan Santiyán and Juan Luis Molina former owners of Grupo Alta Tension and Miguel Angel Hernández, CEO of MAI.

GAT is a company with over 35 years in the sector and specialist in energy transmission and distribution engineering, and information systems including an in-house developed georeferenced management system for the establishment of new infrastructures. GAT has a strong Spanish footprint working over a number of years for very important clients as Red Electrica de España, Union Fenosa Distribución (part of Naturgy group), Acciona, Ayesa, Izharia ingenieria y consultoria, Isastur Ingenieria, Edip Group, The Green Ties, IDOM Consulting, Blue Viking, Elecnor, Gabitel Soluciones and Solaria.

The acquisition of GAT is a step forward in the growth and expansion of MAI, as it will among others allow new skills in networks engineering, bring 30 highly qualified professionals, additional national and international experience in the energy sector as well as a diversified client portfolio that provided $ 1.8 million turnover in 2021.

“This integration shall allow MAI to incorporate more services in its energy portfolio and continue working to be a reference for clients for any consultancy or engineering needs”, stated Miguel A. Hernandez.

On the other side, the integration with MAI shall allow GAT on one hand to increase its international footprint and access to private clients abroad via MAI’s network; and, on the other hand, integrate its services with MAI ones to develop together a more comprehensive portfolio. Enrique Myro shall continue as Director of GAT from its operational center in Ciudad Real and Juan Luis Molina shall continue supporting operations as he had been doing in the last years.

“The Integration with MAI will be an excellent opportunity for GAT to participate in a wider range of consultancy projects as well as to be able to reach a different client profile. This will definitely help GAT to grow faster and stronger”, as Enrique Myro indicated.
