The Ministry of Electricity and Energy of the Government of Myanmar has recently launched an ambitious tender (BOO) for a PV Plant (170MW) and it is inviting international IPPs to the process. Government representatives affirm that renewable energy such as solar power can reduce carbon emissions and create jobs for the locals and that the ministry is seeking various approaches in its longer-term plans to generate electricity.
