Within the Alternative Renewable Energy Pilot Project in Bhutan, MAI Group, together with our local partner has started an awareness campaign aiming to reach a minimum of 600 participants selected from 12 beneficiary villages. The key objective of this project, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), is the installation of Solar PV systems in over 300 rural households. This will enable them to produce energy for their own consumption and create income generation opportunities through the sale of excess power to the grid.
The awareness campaign focuses on promoting the benefits of Solar PV systems and the safe and efficient use of electricity through basic training on O&M aspects, along with outlining the financial requirements needed for beneficiaries to become prosumers.
