The Power Distribution Improvement Project is aimed to rehabilitate the distribution network in five townships in Yangon region, four districts in Mandalay region, five districts in Sagaing region, and two townships in Magway region. The projects´ objective is to help reduce system losses and subsequently increase the electricity supply to urban and rural consumers to support inclusive and sustainable economic development. Detailed engineering design, installation, testing, and commissioning of the works are undertaken by YESB and ESE.
Mercados – Aries International as the Project Implementation Consultant (PIC) assisted MOEP, YESB and ESE with the implementation of this project, including the review of the detailed engineering design(s), procurement implementation, supervision of financial management and reporting, final testing and commissioning of the works, social & environmental planning, and overall project implementation and monitoring.
