Mercados – Aries International carried out the feasibility study aimed to improve distribution system operations, reduce technical and commercial losses, and increase revenue collection from customers.
The Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan decided to implement a country wide advanced electricity metering project. The project covered the regions of Ferghana, Andijan, Namangan, Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya.
This Advanced Electricity Metering Project installed more than 2.6 million advanced electricity meters and associated equipment. The integrated meter data management system installed under the project comprises advanced metering infrastructure, energy data management, billing, archive, and customer relationship management systems. The project also included public information program, gender action plan, and capacity development program for operational improvement for reducing commercial losses. The project executing agency was a vertically integrated state utility company.
