Mercados – Aries International has been delivering technical assistance to the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company providing in-depth understanding of the legal, commercial and technical aspects involved in the implementation of the Gulf of Suez BOO Wind Power Project.
A revision and thorough assessment of the draft agreements of the Project were carried out by the consultants, proposing amendments to improve the legal structure and the risk allocation.
To further achieve the objectives set by the Egyptian authorities in developing business models in scaling up wind power projects, Mercados – Aries International provided capacity building among the EETC staff to allow better understanding of the different Agreements and assessment of the PPA regarding its implementation and management. The team also developed the Operational Manual for the Operating Committee who assisted the Board of EETC and Board of the Power Producer in its oversight of the operations of the Wind Power Plant.
To complete the capacity building program, Mercados – Aries International organised a two-week study tour in Spain to a BOO Wind Power Plant and to the Renewable Energy Control Center.
