Mercados-Aries prepared for the EC a factual overview of the situation of gas storages in the European gas market on the basis of a thorough data gathering and processing exercise.
By providing reliable data on the gas storage situation in different Member States, the study presented a clear picture of the availability of storage capacities the selected MS and how these capacities are used across the EU.
The study provided and overview of security of supply measures related to gas storage in different MS, accompanied by a comparative analysis of regulatory measures affecting gas storage in other non-EU gas markets and, finally an assessment of drivers and barriers of gas storage.
