Mercados Aries International has been engaged in the TRAFOFLEX R&D project, led by SODO – the DSO of Slovenia – and with collaboration of ELES – Country’s TSO. The project aims to develop a novel Dynamic Transformer Rating (DTR) technology for efficient asset management and flexible peak load operation. The approach will be consisted of modelling different types and classes of distribution transformers, and applying advanced Data Analytic solutions, using internal load measurements and external weather data resources in real time.
The project will be developed by Operato, who has already implemented a similar solution within SUMO project at electricity transmission level, for dynamically calculating the thermal ratings of power lines and transformers based on atmospheric conditions.
Mercados Aries International, will contribute to this R&D project as an independent advisor by supervising the solution design and implementation, and assessment and verification of the obtained results. The ultimate goal of the project is to achieve a proven technology for mass implementation in operation purposes as well as flexible market and asset management.
